Catalyzing Change Through Impact Investing

Many households are either unbanked or underbanked, meaning they go outside the traditional banking system for credit and other financial services.  Many low- to moderate-income (LMI) people lack safe, affordable access to financial services and credit, which is a significant step toward individual economic advancement.  LMI’s need access to long-term credit, as well as short-term credit for daily and emergency needs that are not met by mainstream loan products due to higher risk perception, discrimination, and/or not as profitable as large loans.

For a community to thrive, especially economically, it requires community-based decision making and access to basic financial services, affordable credit, and investment capital.  Yet historically, for LMI communities and individuals, that access has often been limited.  The D&M Loan Fund will serve as a catalyst to enable traditionally underserved and underbanked people to thrive, especially economically, through access to basic financial services, affordable credit, and investment capital.  In addition, Loan Fund will further NEST's goal of stabilizing neighborhoods by encouraging homeownership, providing safe, healthy, aesthetically pleasing affordable housing, generating economic growth and opportunity in disadvantaged communities, and injecting sources of capital into neighborhoods that lack access to financing.

We offer affordable low-interest loans to homeowners, landlords, and businesses in Waterbury, Connecticut.
