Born & raised in Waterbury, CT, the descendant of honest working families that stood as pillars in the Black Communities of Waterbury: the seeds of faithful service to God and others has produced the woman seen today. Person, Child of God, daughter, niece, grand-daughter, friend, mother to a beautiful young boy- Commissioner Mason-Craig wears many hats personally and professionally, that she is incredibly proud of.
A graduate of Waterbury Public Schools in 2009, Commissioner Mason-Craig ventured into vocational training in 2014, receiving her LPN License from Lincoln Technical Institute. Finding passion and interest in the healthcare field, the last 15 years have taken her into various settings such as skilled nursing, community health, education and pediatric homecare. Championing for menstrual equity & equality in Connecticut since 2017, Commissioner Mason-Craig continues to raise awareness about the stigma surrounding the cause. Commissioner Mason-Craig alongside many other women & orgs in Central CT, have donated 5,000+ menstrual products to individuals on the streets, businesses, and nonprofits since starting the work.
When she isn’t in nurse mode, she’s learning and serving within many groups & organizations: a graduate of RLT, a Parent Advocate, Chairwoman of the Litter & Beautification of Waterbury, volunteer at the Afro Caribbean Cultural Center, and a Certified Independent Business Consultant- helping to navigate business development and strategy for local Women & other marginalized people.
Commissioner Ronae is committed to the betterment of Waterbury residents in more ways than one. She continues to work towards a brighter future locally for her child and all of yours.
