
Karime Pimentel

A native of the Dominican Republic and a resident of Waterbury, Connecticut, she is the CEO of Dominicanos-US, Inc. and the lead organizer of the Naugatuck Valley Project (NVP), where she advances community-driven initiatives focused on wellness, equity, and local leadership.
Karime is a folklore specialist and community activist, with training and certification in leadership development. She is also a member and affiliate of the National Alliance of Domestic Workers, advocating for the rights and dignity of domestic workers.
A mother of two, Karime is dedicated to teaching folk, popular, and traditional dances, using Dominican, Caribbean, and Latin American cultures as powerful tools for identity, education, and community connection.
In 2019, Karime participated in the Relational Leadership Training (RLT) course offered by NEST. Through this experience, she developed the Love and Care Community Garden project, located in the Crownbrook area—an initiative that promotes care, collaboration, and food security within the community.
