My Story

When did you join NEST?

November 2023

Why did you decide to join NEST?

I decided to join NEST as it was the best position that aligned with my skill set.

What is it about NEST that keeps you engaged with the work/mission?

The work and the mission of NEST amazes me and it is revealing a bigger picture that I want to be part of.

One memorable moment was when we all came together for a candid photo op, popping a balloon arbor. It made me feel like part of a family.

Looking forward, what are your greatest hopes for the future of NEST?

Looking ahead, I envision working with Yahshua in the community garden and in the community with Ian. I have a passion for composting, using rainwater in my own garden, and exploring ideas related to mushrooms, soil, and vegetables. I’ve also established Artists in the Middletown Area to give back to my neighbors an activity that they may have never thought possible. Maybe we can try it in Waterbury!

What are 3 things you enjoy doing in your spare time?

In my spare time I enjoy live music by attending concerts. I enjoy gardening, yoga and oil painting whenever I get the chance. I have won awards for some of my artwork and usually have a commission going on.
