Martiza holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management with a minor in Human Resources. She has twenty- seven years of experience working for home care agencies and in the area of human resources including recruitment, payroll benefits, compliance and retention programs.

Why did you decide to join NEST?
Recently moving from NY to CT, I was looking for a part-time job. Something different – a career change.
What is it about NEST that has kept you engaged with our work/mission?
The mission of NEST is important to me. We provide homeownership education and the opportunity for families to purchase a home. The programming here has engaged me; providing me with the opportunity to learn about the housing sector. Plus, working with this team is such a joy.
Please share a memory or story from your time at NEST.
I am constantly amazed by the way my supervisor, Maria Rivera, assists each individual that walks by the door. Maria is she is an excellent team member and supervisor. When I hear the comments from clients and see their smiles when they are coming out of her office, it makes me proud that I'm working with this organization.
Looking forward, what are your greatest hopes for the future of NEST?
I hope NEST continues expanding in other areas so we can support more CT residents.
What are 3+ things you like to do in your spare time?
I like to cook, read, and walk to stay active.
