GAME ON DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
Construction 2024/25
Game On (145 Bishop Street) is a brilliant two-family home that is a modern response to a turn of the century Queen Anne design vocabulary but refined for 21st century living. Another collaboration with award-winning Waterbury based architecture firm Studio Q Architecture, the home is contextual in mass and rhythm, yet dressed in a modern transparent design aesthetic.
The multi-floor owner’s home features a unique and private entrance with an open-concept layout designed to maximize space and natural light. The living spaces are decorated with beautiful hardwood floors and double-paned windows. Kitchens are tasteful and sleek, equipped with granite countertops and wood cabinets
DESIGN CONCEPT
Over the years, Waterbury’s Queen Ann style detail and connections to the street with front porches has either been removed, or enclosed and encased in aluminum or other current cladding materials. However, the massing (size and shape) and rhythm of the structures remain. The approach is contextual in mass and rhythm yet dressed in a modern transparent design aesthetic.
